Disabled Meta ad accounts: what to do
A disabled ad account is switched off by Meta. Ads stop, and you usually cannot create new ads from it. Start by finding the reason in Business Support Home, then check whether a review is offered.
DISABLED
Disabled is not the same as restricted.
Disabled means the account is off. Restricted means it is limited. The steps differ, so confirm which one you have first.
These guides cover the most common disabled situations. Meta makes the final decision in each one.
What does “ad account disabled” mean?
It means Meta switched the ad account off.
DISABLEDDisabled, restricted or limited: how to tell
Disabled means the account is off.
DISABLEDAd account disabled with no warning
Meta can disable an ad account without an earlier warning, especially after a sudden change such as a payment failure, a big budget jump or a login from a new place.
DISABLEDAd account disabled and no reason is given
If the notice names no policy, look at the pattern around it: a payment change, a new admin, a login from a new place or a recent ad edit.
DISABLEDRequest review button missing on a disabled ad account
The review option may be missing because you are not an admin of the right asset, the request is closed, the wrong asset is open or the decision is final.
DISABLEDShould you open a new ad account while one is disabled?
Usually no.
