Ad account restricted until you verify your identity

Meta may ask the person who runs the account to confirm their identity before ads can run. Complete the check using a valid government ID in the name on your profile. The restriction may lift after Meta accepts it, but Meta decides.

What Meta usually asks for

A photo of a valid government ID, and sometimes a selfie or video. The exact steps show in the notice.

Prepare before you start

The ID is valid and not expired.
The name matches your profile name.
Good light and all four corners visible.
No glare or edits.

After you submit

Wait for the status to update. Do not send the same documents again unless asked.
