Business verification documents for UK companies

For a UK limited company, the cleanest document is usually the Companies House record or certificate of incorporation, with the registered name and address matching the business portfolio exactly. A utility bill or bank statement can support the address. Mismatched spelling is the most common reason for rejection.

Documents that usually work

Certificate of incorporation from Companies House.
A recent Companies House company record showing name and registered office.
A business bank statement or utility bill in the company name.
For sole traders, HMRC letters or a business bank statement in your trading name.

Steps

Open Security Centre in your business portfolio and start verification.
Enter the legal name exactly as it appears at Companies House, including Ltd or Limited.
Use the registered office address, not a trading address, unless you also have proof for it.
Upload a clear PDF of one document, not a photo of a screen.
Confirm by email, phone or domain when asked.

What to fix before you resubmit

Compare the name, address and number on the form against the document line by line. Change the portfolio details first, then upload again.
