Ad account disabled after adding a new admin or partner

Adding an administrator or an outside agency changes who controls the ad account. If the account went disabled shortly after, check whether the person added has their own history of problems, and whether the invitation matches a real working relationship.

Why access changes get noticed

A new admin can spend money, change payment methods and edit ads. Meta looks at the people tied to an account as well as the account itself. An admin whose own profile is restricted can drag a shared account into review.

What to do next

Remove access you do not need, write down who you added and why, and include that in the review request. If you did not add them, treat it as a security problem and follow Meta's steps for unrecognized activity, linked at the bottom of this page.

Official sources

Meta changes its help pages, menus and forms often. Follow the wording on your own screen and the current Help Center. Ads Account Recovery is an independent service and is not affiliated with Meta.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Should I remove the new admin now?

If the person is not essential, yes, and record the date. Keep a screenshot of the list before and after.

Is partner access safer than admin access?

Partner access lets someone work in your assets without sharing a login. Give only the permissions needed.

What if the admin is my agency?

Tell the agency, ask for their business portfolio ID, and check their profile status.
