Ad account disabled after a login from a new country

Logging in from a country you have not used before, or through a VPN, can look like someone else has taken over the account. If the ad account was disabled after you travelled or changed network, treat it as a security matter first and a policy matter second.

Why a new place can matter

Meta checks whether sign-ins look like the owner. A new country, a new device and a different network at once can look like a takeover. The notice may talk about unusual activity or account security.

What to do

  1. Sign out of shared computers and remove devices you do not know from the security settings.
  2. Return to your normal network and device, and log in once.
  3. Complete any identity or security check Meta offers.
  4. Then request a review and say where you were and why.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Is travelling a reason to lose an ad account?

Not by itself. Sudden changes combined with other signals are what get flagged.

Should I turn off the VPN?

Use your normal connection while you complete checks, so your sign-ins look consistent.

Can a teammate log in with my details?

That is the pattern that causes flags. Give them their own access on the business portfolio.
